cna2Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Nursing aides, help provide basic care for patients in hospitals, residents of long-term care and assisted living facilities.

They typically provide the following:
Clean and bathe patients or residents, assist in toileting and dressing, turning, re-positioning,  transferring from beds and wheelchairs, listening and conveying  patients/residents health concerns to the supervising nurse, monitoring and recording vital signs. CNA’s also assist with meals and feeding.

ekg2Electrocardiogram Technician (EKG) – As a EKG Technician, you’ll learn about anatomy and physiology of the  heart, the conduction system, and how to interpret routine basic cardiac rhythms.

They typically do the following tasks:
Set up and administer EKGs, stress tests, prepare patients for Holter, or ambulatory monitoring. Edit and deliver final test results to physicians for analysis, schedule appointments and transcribe physicians’ interpretations.

pt2Phlebotomy - As a Phlebotomist, you’ll draw blood from patients in hospitals, outpatient departments, blood centers, or similar facilities for analysis or other medical purposes.

They typically do the following tasks:
Perform basic phlebotomy procedures, evaluate patients for ability to withstand venipuncture procedure, explain the venipuncture procedure and answer patient questions. Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients. Prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing according to established standards.

hha2Home Health Aide - Home health aides help people who are disabled, chronically ill, or cognitively impaired. They also help older adults who may need assistance.

They typically do the following:
Help clients in their daily personal tasks, such as bathing or dressing, Do light housekeeping, such as laundry, washing dishes, and vacuuming in a client’s home, Organize a client’s schedule and plan appointments, Arrange transportation to doctors’ offices or for other kinds of outings, Shop for groceries and prepare meals, Provide companionship

pct2Patient Care Technician (PCT) - The Patient Care Technician assists doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. They are multi-skilled technicians who can meet the basic needs of the patient.

They typically do the following tasks:
Provide routine basic care, Obtain EKG readings, Perform phlebotomy procedures. PCT’s have the skill and knowledge to do it all within the boundaries of their job description.

cma2Certified Medication Aide – Certified Medication Aide will be responsible for administering medication under the circumstances when a Registered Professional Nurse delegates this task. Delegation of the medication administration task to a Certified Medication Aide may only occur in
Assisted Living Residences, comprehensive Personal Care Homes or only as part of an Assisted Living Program.

Only qualified Certified Nurse Aide, Certified Homemaker/Home Health Aides and Certified Personal Care Assistants are eligible to take this course.
